With my paper done or almost done, how do I feel?
I have to say I am very glad that my paper is almost complete. I enjoy writing, but for myself not for a grade. Writing is away to express my thoughts, feelings and emotions. You would say I am more of journal writer and have been for a long time. Writing papers for a grade is very nerve racking to me. What my classmates think, a friend who reads my paper are totally different comments I receive from the instructor. This term has been a struggle for me, lot of work issues long hours, issues in my life like having four wisdom teeth pulled ouch and wow, this could have not come at a worse time. Not only do I have a paper for this class but for the other one. It has been a over load this term and I will be glad when it is finished and handed in. But in the end I can always say, I am proud of my work regardless of the outcome. I know I have done my best and I always learn something new from each writing class that I have taken. Each instructor has there flare and it seems the class takes on that guidance. This class has been enjoyable, relaxed and up beat. That has made this writing process a whole lot easier than some others.

Continue My Blog
Continue my blog, we probably be a no. To be honest I have only done this for the class assignments. Blogging is not my thing. I really enjoy my email, face book, my framville and cafe world and the fun enter action I have with my friends and family. These things are also are what I do with my little girl with her cousin since it winter cold and we do not have a numerous amount of activities like we do in the spring a summer. In the spring and summer we are outdoors, hiking, gardening, swimming and this year I am going to get on the old bike again and bike with her. Honestly I think the computer monopolize too much of our time and being an online student that monopolizes a lot of computer time. I still like writing letters and sending cards so blogging will definitely be a no for me. We are raising a society of keyboard attached fingers and not enough of enjoying conversation, the outdoors and having fun. To those of you who enjoy this blog away but don't forget the world around you and have some fun with life, the computer is not everything.

How I feel about peer reviews
Peer review are a good thing if done in the right manner and context. I do not like when some sets them self as a instructor and blast away. I do like constructive criticism. Constructive criticism helps me to reevaluate my paper, my thought process and come up with a better way to entice my reader and keep them interested in my paper. I feel peer review should have not only cirticims but positive aspects as well. The paper I read in not all incorrect or uninteresting there should be something positive you find when doing a review. In the past I have good review, where they were negative and positive. That information I analyzed and changed if I needed the ones that were all negative I had a difficult time taking their information to heart. Especially when you read theirs and they are full of the same errors they noted in yours. I thought to my self, maybe you should have reviewed your paper with same harness as mine. Peer review is good when done in a positive constructive manner, remember you are they to help your fellow classmate as a potential reader. By doing this you will be able to improve your writing skills and maybe help your classmate also. Always give a positive when you give a negative...it can't be all bad.

Dealings the past six weeks.
The past six weeks have been very stressful and tiresome. On January 4, we started a new program at work, school started back and my husband had to continue staying on nights. My position and title changed along with many more responsibilities. I have been through three academic advisers and the classes for March all seem to want to start and ten pm. I have been running on I am not sure what, but I know that I am coming to a ending point. Work and the new program seem to be leveling out, it is just trying to help everyone one understand the importance of change. Change is probably the most difficult item to deal with in anyone life. We all say we like change but when it happens in your world we resist, refuse, and reject the whole concept. I have learned and still learn as I continue to work in the medical field change in the number one factor I deal with on a daily basis. Some weeks it flows and the change is great and other weeks it is like your whole train has been derailed. So the past 6 weeks actually since the beginning of the new year change has been what I have and probably will continue to deal with the most. So change some of us like (not really) some of embrace it, and others go with the flow and make the best of it. Right now I am making the best of it because I am sure there is more to come.

Academic Challenges
I have been in school now since February of 09 and am feeling burn out coming on. My academic challenges at this moment are staying focus and keeping everything running in order. I balance a family, job and school and it seems to be weighing pretty heavy right now. My husband had to go to a night shift, so it is like being a single parent. I know there are lot of people out there that do the same thing, but it sure does get trying and it seems like there is no down me time. I know the reward will be great when I finish my race, I will have accomplished getting my degree in Medical Management and with a short break on to RN school to complete my goals I set before my self. Academically I need to stay focused, keep my goals in front of me and try to have a me time every now and then. It just feels as though I am on a constant go mode and that is not good. Hopefully, things will slow down at work and I will stay academically focused and not have a total burn out before the end of this term.

Dealing With Change at my Job
Friend, I discover on a daily basis the medical field is a constantly changing world, never the same and every day brings a new challenge. At occupational health on January 4th we implemented a new program, that includes: electronic health records, or EMR charting. Doing away with that paper chart and making everyone a computer Icon in the electronic world has its advantages and disadvantages and at this present time I think the disadvantages are little more than I thought they would be. Do you realize that if you system shuts down or some type of computer glitch your are stuck and are the mercy of the IPH team to solve the network problem. Stop and think with one push of the button your history could be wiped clean. After two weeks of this new system and what could have went wrong did my advise to myself and you is it may seem cool your physician carrying around the hand held notebook, taking your information charting notes it there is something important you want to have have them print it out and keep a hard copy for yourself. You may never know who may accidentally push the button and your information will be gone.
